About

Reliable data on Uzbekistan's startup ecosystem is scarce. No study looks at the ecosystem as a whole, so it is hard for founders, investors and policymakers to see where it stands or where support is needed.

The UZC Research Institute collects original data, from founders in UZ Combinator's programs and from partner organizations, and studies it together with university researchers. We publish what we find.

The Institute operates within UZ Combinator and publishes independently of it. Findings are published as they are, and we do not edit them to flatter UZ Combinator.

Collecting data

How founders approach their work

With Cornell researchers, we are surveying founders and their teams from 30 startups. We want to find out how a promotion or prevention approach affects a startup's success in the batch.
