Meet our guests from Silicon Valley:
• Mostafa Afr (Doomersion) - a YC W26 participant. He built a TikTok-style endless "doomscroll" feed for learning languages. As a result users spend an average of 3 hours a day on it (for comparison: the Duolingo average is 5 minutes). TechCrunch named his project one of the most interesting startups at YC. A graduate of the UPenn (M&T) programme.
• Bilal Asmatullah (Sciloop) - a YC F25 participant, MIT student (currently on leave) and a member of the Forbes Business Council. His AI project, which fully automates scientific research from forming a hypothesis to writing the paper, raised $500K. He was previously a researcher at MIT CSAIL and won a medal at the 2022 International Physics Olympiad.
• Jacob Gabel (Doomersion) - Chief Product Officer of Doomersion, in charge of design and the rollout of features. Before Doomersion he founded a design agency that worked with YC companies.
• Hassan Syed (Doublespeed) - co-founder of a project backed by a16z Speedrun that raised $500K. His startup builds AI systems for brand marketing and growth. His experience in IT is vast: before founding a startup he was a senior engineer at Google, and before that worked at Microsoft and Amazon.
• Zuhair Lakhani (Doublespeed) - co-founder and CEO of Doublespeed ($500K, a16z Speedrun 05). He runs the company directly from San Francisco and is part of the Powell Street founder community there. He is also the CEO of the youngest team in the delegation.
• Mo Nasir (Altrina) - a YC W25 graduate and MIT graduate. His project, AI agents that automate office business processes, raised $2.5M and was then acquired by Abridge, a leading AI medical company. Before his startup he spent 4.5 years at NVIDIA working on self-driving cars and registered 4 technology patents.
