From Tashkent to the world

The local market is the start, not the end. What thinking globally from day one means — and what it does not.

From Tashkent to the world

"No borders" is one of the programme's four principles. Built in Tashkent, sold to the world. But thinking globally is often misunderstood.

What it does not mean

  • An English website from day one
  • Flying to Berlin before you have a single customer in Tashkent
  • "Our market is the whole world"

What it does mean

  1. The problem is global — a customer's pain in Tashkent exists in Almaty and Bishkek too
  2. The product travels — language, currency and payments built to be swapped from day one
  3. The number compares — how does your growth look against the world's standard

The local market is the start, not the end.

How the first foreign market is chosen

CriterionQuestion
DistanceIs it a one-hour flight?
LanguageCan you talk to a customer without an interpreter?
PaymentsHow do you get paid?
A customer existsHave you had at least three conversations there?

Four yeses — that is your first market. One no — it is too early.

From the cohort

Some of the Season 1 companies are already in neighbouring markets. They started in Tashkent, proved the product here, then moved — that is the order.
