Thirty days to the first paying customer

What changes between week three and week four: from ten conversations to the first payment.

Thirty days to the first paying customer

Most founders hide the product "until it is ready". In the programme we do the opposite: week three is face to face with customers, week four is the first payment.

Week three: ten conversations

Ten conversations does not mean ten friends. Ten strangers who have the problem and are solving it somehow right now.

Three questions are enough:

  • When did this problem last happen to you?
  • How do you handle it today?
  • What does that cost you in time or money?

The answers with pain in them are the valuable ones. "Nice idea" tells you nothing.

Week four: the first payment

A payment is the most honest confirmation there is. Put a price on it and ask. Three things can happen:

  1. They pay — you found a channel
  2. They negotiate — the price is wrong, the problem is right
  3. Silence — the problem does not hurt enough

The numbers choose the channel

Not a guess. One table per channel:

Small numbers are still numbers. Three payments is a direction; zero is a question.

Next: the weekly KPI.
